A Life Well Lived
Shirley Dolores Frykholm Boehme was born on May 7, 1930, to Gundar Ludwig Frykholm and Elna Pearson Frykholm. She was the youngest girl and the second-youngest of six children: Vernon (Bud) Frykholm, Lorraine Bray, Ray Frykholm, Belle Audreen (Donna) Frykholm, and Rodney Frykholm.
Shirley grew up in Scandia, Washington, just across Liberty Bay from Poulsbo. She attended Pearson Elementary, North Kitsap High School, and later Eastern Washington State College (now University).
She began her career at Puget Sound Power & Light Co., where she met the love of her life, David Boehme, thanks to a date arranged by her friend Lila Adams. Shirley and David were married in 1965 and shared 45 wonderful years together until his passing in 2008.
