Sherburne M. Edmondson, 77

Kingston resident Sherburne “Sherb” Morrison Edmondson died Jan. 13, 2006 in Bremerton. He was 77.

Edmondson was born to Chester and Ruth Edmondson in Branson, Mo. on Sept. 28, 1928.

He married Bernice Selina Lenhart on Sept. 2, 1948 in Omak.

Edmondson graduated from Okanogan High School in 1945 at the age of 16 and attended the University of Kansas on a sports scholarship. In high school, he was the Washington state high jump champion.

He worked as a miner at Sunshine Mines in Kellog, Idaho from 1947-49 and moved to Kingston in 1952. He was a logger for Ed Arness Logging in Kingston before becoming a machinist at Washington Ironworks in Seattle for 20 years.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing and telling jokes. He was a member of Liberty Christian Center in Poulsbo.

Edmondson is survived by his wife Bernice Selina Edmondson of Kingston; son Sherburne Jr. (Terri) Edmondson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; daughter Sheila (Charles) Moore of Poulsbo; brothers Mitchell Edmondson of La Conner and Fred (Marge) Edmondson of Federal Way; sister Martha Knox of Little Boston, Texas; sister-in-law Percy Edmondson of La Conner; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brother Bill Edmondson; sister Mary Sender; and son Bernard Edmondson.

A memorial service was held on Jan. 28 at Kingston Christian Church in Kingston.
