Sharon Ann Samek, formerly of Poulsbo, died at her home in Holt, Mich., Dec. 28.

Samek was born in Seattle in 1940 and was the third child of Roy E. Mick and Mina C. (Kamper) Mick. She grew up in Poulsbo and married Richard Dean Samek of Bainbridge Island in March 1958. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1959.

Samek was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband and her two brothers, Robert R. Mick and Bill Mick.

Samek is survived by her daughter, Kristen Schmidt (Robert) of Atascadero, Calif.; her son, Jay Samek (Manila) of Lansing, Mich.; her sister Marilyn Frappier (Tom) and husband Tom Frappier of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three grandchildren: Sarah M. Adams, Rachiny S. Samek and Noah Dean Schmidt; and two great-grandsons: Seth Adams and Corbin Adams.
