Rosemary Hoak

Rosemary Hoak, 93

Former Poulsbo resident Rosemary Hoak died July 19, 2006 in Spokane. She was 93.

Hoak was born to Fred and Ethel (Bearse) Parkhurst in Startup on May 10, 1913.

Her first marriage was to Floyd Kenneth Troy on May 30, 1931 in Port Orchard. After his death in 1968, she married Robert Ivan Pearsall in 1975. After Pearsall’s death in 1980, she married Harold Hoak.

Hoak graduated from South Kitsap High School.

She was a homemaker and from 1942 to 1962 she operated a creamery, frozen food locker and custom meatcutting business in Poulsbo.

She enjoyed traveling and camping in the western U.S. and Canada, swimming, jigsaw puzzles and visiting Mt. Rainier.

Hoak is survived by son Eugene (Laveda) Troy of Afton, Wyo.; step-son Robert Hoak of Pasco; son-in-law Tom (Donna) McJunken of Red Bluff, Calif.; daughter Katie (Max) Mathews of Nacogdoches, Texas; step-daugthers Carolyn (Gerry) Winter of Moses Lake and Gladys (Mike) Alfano of Spokane; sister Emily Kincaid of Spokane; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Hoak was preceded in death by husbands Floyd Kenneth Troy, Robert Ivan Pearsall and Harold Hoak; daughter Mary Lou; sister Alice and brother Eugene.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. July 26, 2006 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
