Rose J. Espelund, 81

Poulsbo resident Rose Joyce Espelund died Dec. 9, 2004. She was 81.

She was born to Hector and Emma (King) Gagne in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada Oct. 1, 1923.

Following graduation from high school, she married Jim Nelson. Later, she married Albert Lawrence Nelson in 1950.

Espelund lived on Bainbridge Island from 1954 until 2002, when she moved to Poulsbo.

She loved music, art, nature and animals. She was generous to people and to charitable organizations.

Espelund is survived by her daughters Michele Dean of Poulsbo and Mary Margaret “Marge” Miller of Thompson Falls, Mont.; sister Pat Dwyer of Bainbridge Island; one granddaughter; and three great grandchildren.
