Richard K. Belling (Dick) passed away early morning September 12, 2023. Born August 20, 1936, to John and Dorothy Belling. Dick spent the majority of his 87 years on Bainbridge Island. He was married to high school sweetheart Alma Oliphant for 68 years, raised 4 children; Janene, Rick, Carl and Chris, and dearly loved 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He retired in 1992 after 30 years from Bainbridge Island School District. His work life was filled with variety from fisherman, janitor, bus driver, maintenance supervisor, beach boss, contractor and all-around handyman. Who he was: a man of deep love for God and country, an everlasting devotion to wife and family, a storyteller and jokester with an affinity for cowboy poetry. Over the years he was involved with the Bainbridge Island Saddle Club, Grange, and First Baptist Church. He lived a life of example, faith and dedication.
