R. Joseph LaRocque

R. Joseph LaRocque died Sept. 25, 2006 in Poulsbo. He was 69.

LaRocque was born to Rene and Helen LaRocque in Three Lakes, Wisc. on March 28, 1937.

He married Janis Steeves in 1962 in Seattle.

LaRocque graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1955 and the University of Washington in 1959.

He worked as a traffic manager for San Mode Shipping in Seattle and president of Maust Transfer. He was also a choir director at various local churches, most recently at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Burien.

He enjoyed music and golf.

LaRocque is survived by his son David (Elise) LaRocque of Renton; daughters Marie Street of Camas and Nina LaRocque of Poulsbo; sisters Mary of Gig Harbor and Margot of Grapeview; nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

LaRocque was preceded in death by his wife Janis LaRocque and brother David LaRocque.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Burien.
