Orval Cleveland

Orval C. Cleveland died May 17. He was 86.

He was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Angus, Minn., to William and Clarice Cleveland.

Cleveland earned the Purple Heart in World War II. After leaving the “farm” in Angus, Minn., he brought his family to Poulsbo in 1962. He retired from PSNS, Shop 64, in 1987. He single-handedly built the family’s homes in both Warren and Poulsbo. He enjoyed boating and fishing throughout Puget Sound, and RVing with Betty each Fall and settling in Yuma, Ariz., for the winter.

Cleveland was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clarice (Andreasen), his wife, BettyLou (Ranum) Cleveland and his daughter Cathy Lou Querio. He is survived by his children, Corinne (Poulsbo), Tim (Poulsbo), Tony (San Jose, Calif.) and Connie Cleveland (Poulsbo). And grandchildren

Sean Callaham, Taryn Gemmell and Jason, Ryan, Fay and Jill Cleveland.

Friends and family will be gathering for a memorial at a later date.
