Norman Johnson, 75

Norman Johnson of Poulsbo died of heart failure on Sept. 4 at Harrison Medical Center. He was 75. Johnson was born July 15, 1933, in Bridgeport, New England to Kenneth and Ina (Davis) Johnson. After graduating from Bridgeport High School in 1951, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Teleman stationed in Hawaii and Guam from 1953-57.

On June 5, 1960, he married Carol Drebick in Shelton. He worked in communications for US West as a Teletype repairman, retiring in 1992. His favorite pastimes were golfing, bowling, fishing, camping, traveling and gardening.

Johnson was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Johnson and sister Wanda Riley. He is survived by his wife Carol of Poulsbo; daughters, Teresa Johnson of Poulsbo, Sheila Nelsen of Bainbridge Island, Marlys (Percy) Henderson of Seattle; sisters Thelma Mount of Bridgeport, New England, Joyce (Gary) Mork of Shelton, Donna (Rod) Fuller of Imperial, New England; grandchildren Taylor and Curtis Nelsen, Tiffany and Sara Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at the family home in Poulsbo at 2 p.m. on Sept. 11.
