Monty Cooper of Kingston died July 22. He was 47. Cooper served in the United States Navy from January 1987 to November 1997, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, Two Meritorious Unit Commendations, Two Navy “E’ Ribbons, Eight Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Navy Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Expert Rifleman Shot Medal, Two Good Conduct Medals, and Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal. After his enlistment in the Navy, Cooper was employed in automotive field.

He is survived by a great number of family and friends located Washington, Oregon and Utah. Monty had many interest’s, which included photography, motorcycle riding and computer technology.
