Michael Dumford, 49

Former Poulsbo resident Michael Wayne Dumford died Dec. 10, 2006 at his home in Forks. He was 49.

Dumford was born to Edward and Martha Dumford in Seattle on June 28, 1957.

He attended North Kitsap High School and joined the Army in 1976.

During his four years of military service, Dumford served as a Green Beret paratrooper.

Dumford is survived by his daughters Sara Sherman, Katrina Dumford, Jean Marvel, and Martha Charles; brothers Thomas Dumford and Perry Dumford; sisters Cheri Whims and Jeannie Meek; his mother Martha Dumford of Poulsbo; and special friends Fran and Larry Cooney.

Dumford was preceded in death by his sister Marcia Dumford.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 23 at The Stone Chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Port Blakely Cemetery.
