Mary E. Harkleroad, 79

Mary E. Harkleroad of Poulsbo died Feb. 7, 2004 in Poulsbo. She was 79.

Harkleroad was born to Samuel T. and Ethel F. (Fulks) Johnston in Ottawa, Kan. on Feb. 11, 1924.

She married John T. Harkleroad.

Harkleroad graduated from Ottawa High School in Ottawa, Kan. in 1941.

She worked in munitions plants during World War II and later was a bookkeeper and a homemaker.

Harkleroad participated in bowling league and pinochle club. She was a member of the North Kitsap Baptist Church.

Harkleroad is survived by her sons John T. Harkleroad III of Bremerton, Bryan L. (Marla) Harkleroad of Poulsbo; daughter Cathy Eidsmoe of Poulsbo; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Harkleroad, brothers Robert and Lloyd Johnston and parents Samuel T. and Ethel F. (Fulks) Johnston.

A memorial service is scheduled for noon Feb. 12 at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo. Inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton.
