Martha J. Barrett, 64

Poulsbo resident Martha Jane Barrett died May 21, 2005 in Poulsbo. She was 64.

She was born to Merrill and Ruth (Thompson) Sheets in Indianapolis, Ind. on March 26, 1941.

Barrett married Patrick Edward Barrett on Dec. 13, 1963 in Indianapolis, Ind.

She graduated from Arsenal Tech High in Indianapolis, Ind. in 1959 and attended University of Indiana’s Dental Assisting Program in Indianapolis, Ind.

Barrett was a dental tech clinical instructor for a senior dental students cosmetic restoration program.

She taught Confraternity of Catholic Doctrine. She was an avid gardener and recreated a traditional English garden at her home on Miller Bay. She shared her knowledge of plants and cutting with anyone. She was an avid painter, using her grandchildren and garden. She was a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren.

Barrett is survived by her husband Patrick Edward Barrett of Poulsbo; son Jack (Jill) Barrett of Lake Tapps; daughter Beth Lally of Poulsbo and Leann (Charles) Strunk of Port Orchard; brother John (Donna) Sheets of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister Diane (Mike) Dowd of Indianapolis, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

A Rosary will take place at 7:30 p.m. May 25 at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Poulsbo. A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. May 26 at St. Olaf’s. Inurnment will take place at the Kingston Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove, 22272 Foss Road, in Poulsbo.
