Margit M. Dihle, 82

North End resident Margit Maria Dihle died April 4, 2006 in Bremerton. She was 82.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1923 in Finland to Swedish parents Nils Albin Nelson and Amanda Maria Grondahl.

She came to the United States shortly after World War II where she met and later married Norwegian immigrant Reidar Leonard Dihle. They settled in California where they raised their three sons.

Dihle trained and worked as a physicial therapist technician. After her husband’s death in 2002, she moved to Washington be near her sister Daisy. She had been a resident of Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo since 2003. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Orangevale, Calif. and The Sons of Norway.

Dihle is survived by her children Nils (Lynette) Dihle of Alaska, Erik (Patrice) of West Virginia and Raymond (Nancy) of California; sister Daisy Hanley of Poulsbo; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece; and many other family and friends in the United States, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. April 8 at the Seabold United Methodist Church on Bainbridge Island.
