Mae Nedwed

Mae V. Nedwed, formerly of Poulsbo, died at the Clairmont East facility in Bremerton on April 26. She and her husband John had been residents of Poulsbo since 1970. She was 92.

She was born May 24, 1909 in San Antonio, Texas.

In 1929, she married John L. Nedwed, (Col., USAF Ret.), who was then a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Their daughter, Nancy Sefton of Poulsbo, was born just before the couple was transferred to Argentina, where Col. Nedwed served as a flying instructor.

After living for several years on Bainbridge Island, the Nedweds settled in Poulsbo in 1971 after a long search for the “ideal” retirement location. Col. Nedwed built his second boat in this area and the couple enjoyed summer cruises north to B.C. and Alaska. They were active members of the Poulsbo Yacht Club during the 70s and also members of Friends of the Library.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Ron) Sefton, Poulsbo and a niece, Joyce Vadas of Dallas, Texas. Her husband John preceded her in death in 1993.

At her request, no services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County. Arrange-ments are by Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.
