LeRoy Lindley Snyder, 68

LeRoy Lindley Snyder of Poulsbo died June 22, 2007. He was 68.

He was born to Luther F. and Zetta Snyder on July 17, 1938 in Manhattan, Kan.

Snyder married Elizabeth Hale on Sept. 29, 1961 in Sterling, Okla.

He graduated from Arlington High School and attended Seattle Pacific College.

Snyder opened an industrial electrical business on the Kitsap Peninsula in 1974, which he ran for nearly 30 years. He was employed at Sasco Electric as a lead estimator until his death.

He served in the United States Army for three years at Fort Sill, Okla., where he met his wife.

Snyder loved pe ople, talking, telling jokes and helping those in need. During his life, he traveled to Tanzania twice and the Solomon Islands once to help build a church and school for the impoverished communities. He continued to send annual shipments of food and supplies to Tanzania.

Snyder is survived by his wife Elizabeth Snyder of Poulsbo; sons Michael Snyder of Bremerton and Scott Snyder of Poulsbo; brother Jerry Snyder of Greensboro, N.C.; sisters Patti Lindquist of Hemet, Calif. and Marilyn Hathaway of Bozeman, Mont.; mother Zetta Snyder McMullen of Bozeman, Mont.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held June 26, 2007 at Christ Memorial Church.
