Lawrence D. Faille

Lawrence Dwayne Faille passed away on Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at the age of 80, surrounded by his wife Mary (Kingston), two daughters Kathy (Kent) and Toni (Everett), son Jim (Bonney Lake), six grandchildren, Jenni, Dani, Brian, Lauren, Anne and Jack, and his first grandchild Sadie.

Larry was born in Devil’s Lake, N.D. on September 16th, 1930 to Lawrence and Violet Faille. When he was around 8-years-old, Larry and his family relocated to the Seattle area. After graduating from Franklin High School, he met and married Mary McQueen in 1951. While working as an Engineer for The Boeing Company, Larry also attended the University of Washington in the evenings and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1954.

Larry had a passion for history, travel, and architecture. After 38 years of work at Boeing, he retired and toured the world with his wife Mary, visiting various cities and countries. Combining his love of travel and history, he dedicated a large part of his golden years to tracing his family linage through the US, Canada and France.

Known for his great stories and loveable sense of humor, Larry’s greatest joy in life was his family. He spent much of his time camping, fishing, travelling, and playing cards with those closest to him. On the day of Larry’s passing, all of his children and grandchildren quickly gathered together to celebrate the life and mourn the loss of a man who meant so much to each and every one of them; a true testament to Larry’s commitment to his family.

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary; his sister Margo; his daughter Kathryn and her children Anne and John Thomas; his daughter Toni and her children Jennifer and Lauren; and his son James with his wife Denise and their children Brian and Danielle along with Danielle’s husband Xaviour their daughter Sadie.
