Laurie M. Carlson, 91

Laurie M. Carlson died Nov. 17, 2005 in Bremerton. She was 91.

Carlson was born to Frederic and Aldea Morin Maheu in Grenville, Quebec, Canada on Sept. 15, 1914.

She married Glen Carlson in 1952.

Carlson was educated in Quebec, where she also taught in a one-room schoolhouse.

She enjoyed bowling, knitting, playing cards and watching TV soap operas. She was also very involved in her church.

Carlson is survived by her sons Phil (Gisele) Maheu of Kingston and Ron Carlson of Poulsbo; sister Rita White of Montreal, Quebec; nieces Anne MacDuff of Sarnia, Ontario, Nancy Jones of Port Orchard, Louise Maheu of Silverdale; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.

A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 21, followed by services at 11 a.m., both at St. Olaf’s Church in Poulsbo. A reception will follow.
