Joyce Pritchard, 62
Joyce (Setsue Shiba) Pritchard of Bainbridge Island died July 14, 2005. She was 62.
Pritchard was born Feb. 8, 1943 in the Japanese Internment Camp in Poston, Ariz.
She and her family have lived on Bainbridge for the past 16 years.
Pritchard is survived by her husband Bruce; sons Arlen and Meadow; daughters Allana and Winter; sisters Taka, Yoko, and Kyoko; and brother Katz.
She received her B.A. in Asian studies from Seton Hall University in NJ and her master’s from Rutgers University in NJ. She held a teachers certificate in New York, New Jersey and Washington. She also held a counseling certificate with the State of Washington. Pritchard spent her energies and love teaching English and related classes to mostly middle school children throughout her working life, most recently at Poulsbo Junior High School.
