John T. “Jack” Brooke Jr., 76

John Thomas “Jack” Brooke Jr. of Hansville died Aug. 7, 2004 in Bremerton. He was 76.

Brooke was born in Seattle to John T. and Florence (Keller) Brooke on Nov. 18, 1927.

He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945 and later studied at the University of Washington.

Brooke married Paula Schneeberger on Dec. 22, 1971 in Orange, Calif.

He served in the Navy and Naval Reserves from October 1948 to June 1957, achieving the rank of photographer third class and furthered his interest in aviation while an air crewman at NAS Seattle at Sand Point.

Brooke was founder and president of Brooke International/ Brooke Engineering in Hansville.

He was involved in flying onboard and hosting since 1993 local annual visits of the Collings Foundation World War II heavy bombers at Bremerton National Airport, which featured the B-17 Flying Fortress and the B-24 Liberator.

Brooke was professionally affiliated with the Photo Marketing Association International and the National Association of Naval Photographers. He also participated in the Collings Foundation, the Catalina Society, the Eighth Air Force Historical Society, the 94th Bomb Group (H) Association, the B-24 Liberator Club, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Warbirds of America, the Olympic Flight Museum, the Kalamazoo Heritage Air Museum, the American Air Museum in Britain and the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) in Seattle.

He enjoyed photography, power boating, world travel, history and sharing his experiences with others. He also valued the companionship of his dog, Sally, and cats, Missy and Alicia Anne.

Brooke is survived by his wife Paula; daughter Cindy of Hansville; sons Tom (Marianne) of Poulsbo and John (Katrina) of Bothell; sister Elizabeth “Betsy” (George) Davis of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
