John Sigurd Andersen

John Sigurd Andersen, 68, of Poulsbo, WA, passed away on July 6, 2018. John was born November 2, 1949, to Trygve and Dorothy (Roth) Andersen in International Falls, MN. A graduate of International Falls High School, John went on to attend the University of Minnesota, Duluth receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. On July 8, 1972, John married the love of his life, Jaxine Anderson in Duluth, MN. John worked as a computer programmer, analyst, and was self-employed as owner/operator of NORCOM (Northern Computing Consultants). John was also employed with the State of Alaska’s Department of H & SS from 1974-1982. In his spare time, John enjoyed photography, walking, and bicycling. John is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Karen Jones, Linda Goodman, Michael Andersen; and in-laws, Arthur and Helen Anderson. John’s memory will live on with his wife of 46 years, Jaxine; son, Matthew (Ashley) and their children, Mercedes and Maeson of Medford, OR; brothers, Thomas Andersen (Linda) of Albany, NY and their three daughters, spouses and children; and sister, Mary Andersen of Boyton Beach, FL; sister-in-laws, Mary Hardy Outlaw (George), Susan Shafer (Mark); and brother-in-laws, Howard Anderson (Roberta) and Arthur Anderson (fiancee Marchelle). John and Jaxine resided in Juneau, AK for 33 years before moving to Poulsbo, WA 10 years ago. This move meant being able to drive more than 45 miles in any direction, being closer to grandchildren, enjoying season tickets to the Mariners, and warmer/dryer weather…and not necessarily in that order. A memorial service for John will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 1:00pm at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary. An online memorial can be seen at www.poulsbomortuary.com
