John Horton, 37

John Horton of Kingston died Sept. 18 in Poulsbo. He was 37.

Horton was born to James and Electa Horton in Riverside, Calif. on Feb. 28, 1968.

He married Kara Perry on Aug. 13, 1986 in Suquamish.

He attended North Kitsap schools and joined the Army in 1986.

He was a Desert Storm veteran, earning the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Horton was active in assisting fellow veterans through the Veterans Administration.

He enjoyed reading, camping and loved to work on motorcycles.

He is survived by wife Kara Horton of Kingston; sons Robert Horton, Thomas Horton and John Alan Horton, all of Kingston; daughter Sandra Horton of Kingston; brother Victor Horton of Olympia; sisters Rose Lewis of Modesto, Calif. and Lisa Straub of Olympia; father James W. Horton of Centralia; and mother Electa Yeomans of Pasco.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the S’Klallam Tribal Center on Little Boston Road in Kingston.
