JoAnn C. Read, 75

Poulsbo resident JoAnn C. Read died July 14, 2005 in Bremerton. She was 75.

Read was born to Arthur and Naomi Reardon in Tacoma on Jan. 2, 1930.

She married Richard E. Read in 1954.

Read graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1948. Read worked for the McChord Air Force Base, Bell Anderson Insurance, as a clerk for the City of Algona and for Regence Blue Shield in Seattle in customer service.

She retired in 2001.

Read enjoyed traveling to warm places, knitting, spending time with family and reading.

Read is survived by sons Richard E. (Carrol) Read Jr. of Bainbridge Island, David S. (Lisa) Read of Plains, Mont., Stephen K. (Terri) Read of Edgewood and Daniel P. (Kristen) Read of Poulsbo; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her ex-spouse Richard E. Read and brother Donald Reardon.

A private family service will be held.
