Jack Wayne Archer
Jack Wayne Archer was born in Port Townsend to Sophie and Frank Sheff on Dec. 8, 1943. He passed away on April 14.
As a toddler, Jack was adopted by his mother’s second husband Ray Archer. Jack grew up mostly on Erland Point in Kitsap County and graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1962. Following two years in the U.S. Navy, he began to learn the architectural sheet metal trade and spent about 25 years becoming skilled in all aspects.
In 1991, Jack started Premier Metal Systems Co., Inc. and operated it successfully for 21 years. An excellent businessman during that time, he sold the business and retired in 2012.
Jack enjoyed his retirement immensely with the people and the place that is Poulsbo. Many have benefitted from his metalworking skills, most notably the Poulsbo/North Kitsap Rotary Club, Martha and Mary Health Services, the City of Poulsbo and Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network. His retirement hobby of making wine brought him much joy, which he shared well.
Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen; son Tony (Shelle) Archer of Enumclaw; daughter Lisa (Barry) Collier of Westport; stepson Jason Beyerman; five beloved grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Knight of Bremerton; five nieces and nephews, their children and many aunts and cousins.
Donations in Jack’s name can be made to the Poulsbo-NK Rotary Club and to Sightlife in Seattle.
