Hubert Paramore

Hubert (Hugh) Paramore, a 60-year resident of Indianola, died at home on Oct 1. He was 94 years old, born on Dec. 2, 1913, in Los Angeles to Herv and Estelle Paramore.

He was raised in Los Angeles and graduated from high school. He married Evelyn Rice and moved to Indianola in 1940. He worked as a welder for PSNS and Standard Oil until he joined UA local 32, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in 1948. He then worked with contractors building the University of Washington Hospital and King Dome. His jobs took him to Tacoma, Port Angeles, Wenatchee and many times to Alaska working on pipelines. Hugh’s wife Evelyn, passed away in 1980 and he retired. He maintained his union membership the rest of his life, always attending five-year reunions.

Paramore married Geraldine Smith in 1985 and added seven more children to his four. He is survived by his wife, Gerry; son, John (Evelyn); daughters, Patricia Trapp and Shannon Lewis (Jeff). His stepchildren are Scott, Craig, Tony, Shannon, Jennie, Patrick (Lydia), and Kent. His son William is deceased as well as two grandchildren. There are 29 surviving grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Indianola Living Hope Church, located at 20789 N.E. Division St. Indianola, WA 98342. A memorial service will be held at Stone Chapel, 22272 Foss Road, Poulsbo at 11 a.m. Oct. 10. Burial will be at Kingston Cemetery, West Kingston Road and Norman.
