Howard C. Armstrong, 66

Poulsbo resident Howard Carl Armstrong died Nov. 19, 2004 in Bremerton. He was 66.

He was born to F. H. and Betty (Renny) Armstrong in Seattle on Sept. 20, 1938.

Armstrong was raised in Bly, Ore. and Pomeroy. He graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1956. He attended Washington State University and belonged to the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

He joined the National Bank of Commerce and served as a banker at 5th and Union in Seattle. He also owned and operated Globe Cellar Restaurant in the Pioneer Square District in Seattle. Armstrong developed Main Event Show Grounds, Rock and Gem Show in Quartzsite, Ariz. He lived in Kitsap County for many years and provided food service to many of the fairs on the West Coast, from Washington to California.

Armstrong collected trains, old toys and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his brother Herbert (Elda) Armstrong of Poulsbo; sister Elizabeth (Gary) Krause of Boise, Idaho; and six nieces and nephews.

At his request, there will be no services at this time; a memorial will be held at the family reunion in July.
