Hergart Wilkins, died unexpectedly on Sept. 19. She was 65.

Wilkins was born in Germany on Feb. 21, 1944. It was there that she met and married her husband, Larry Wilkins and moved to the United States. She enjoyed cooking her favorite German dishes, particularly during the holidays when she would fill the house with culinary delights she brought from her home in Oppenheim. As an avid gardener, her yard was always filled with beautiful, colorful flowers. She liked to collect unique knickknacks and the family was always amazed at the humorous things she’d collect.

Surviving are her son Richard Wilkins; daughters: Eileen May and Sandie Wilkins; and her five grandchildren: Chelsea, Austin, Jessica, Viktoria, and Katarina.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 29 at The Stone Chapel , 22272 Foss Road NE, Poulsbo.
