Harold G. Nelson

Former Poulsbo resident Harold Gustav Nelson of Bremerton died in Bremerton May 31, 2003. He was 75.

He was born to Gertrude and Carl John Nelson Nov. 23, 1927 in Seattle.

Nelson married Alta Mae Nelson in 1952 in Bremerton.

He graduated from Washington State University in Pullman.

Nelson served in the Army in 1946, worked at Kitsap Dairy and civil service at the Naval Shipyard and Subase Bangor. He held two overseas civil service positions in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Subic Bay in the Philippines before retiring in 1988.

He was an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks and enjoyed RV travel.

Nelson is survived by his wife Alta Mae Nelson of Bremerton; son Craig (Donna) Nelson of Seabeck; and daughter Sandra (Michael) Peterson of Poulsbo; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his sister Evelyn Norelius.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 18 at Sandra Peterson’s home, 241118 Dove Lane in Poulsbo. Call for directions.
