Genevieve C. Smith, 89

Genevieve C. Smith of Poulsbo died April 14, 2005 in Poulsbo. She was 89.

She was born to Joseph and Katherine (Jennewein) Schaefer in St. Louis, Mo. on Nov. 16, 1915.

Smith married Floyd E. Smith in January 1935 in St. Louis, Mo.

She graduated from high school in St. Louis, Mo.

Smith was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul’s Society at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church. She also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and camping. She liked playing games of all kinds.

Smith was a member of St. Olaf’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son Joseph Emery (Julia) Smith of St. Helens, Ore.; daughters Gloria (Robert) Boyd of Poulsbo, Sandra (Gary) Brown of Mill Creek and Michele (Edward) Zalar of Cleveland, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Emery Smith, daughter Alice N. Newhouse and five siblings.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. April 22 at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Poulsbo. An interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
