Erik H. Jorgensen, 58

Erik Harold Jorgensen died July 2, 2006. He was 58.

Jorgensen was born to Harold and Mary Jorgensen Jan. 25, 1948 in Seattle and lived most of his life in Renton.

He married Lexie Popp of Kent June 1966.

He graduated from Renton High School in June 1966 and the University of Washington in 1972.

He started his 30-year career in 1969 with Pacific Northwest Bell and retired June 1999 from US West Dex where he was a Yellow Pages Advertising Consultant.

Joregenson started a second career in 1999 when he graduated from Ashmead College as a Licensed Massage Practitioner. He treated people in his Renton office, in Hansville, and on Kauai, Hawaii. He was certified, (ACMT) of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and served on the Advisory Committee to the Massage Therapy Program at Renton Technical College.

In December 2002, he and his wife moved to Hansville where they cared for her mother, Delores. He enjoyed the community of Driftwood Key and made many friends there. He loved boating, fishing, crabbing and especially helping others. He was a member of the Puget Sound Anglers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mary Jorgensen of Renton.

Joregenson is survived by his wife, Lexie of Hansville; sister, Andee Jorgensen of Renton; brothers-in-law Richard Wagner, Jeff Popp and John Popp and their families.

A Memorial Floatila and Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. July 23 at the Driftwood Key Club, 37608 Vista Key Drive N E, Hansville, WA 98340. Friends can e-mail rikysmemorial@comcast.net, from which stories and photos will be compiled into a keepsake for family members.

In lieu of flowers gifts can be made to the Renton Technical College Foundation at www.RTC.edu in the “Rik Jorgensen Massage Therapy Fund” or to local fire and emergency services groups.
