E. Elaine Ferson, 86

E. Elaine Ferson of Poulsbo died Dec. 6, 2004 in Bremerton. She was 86.

Ferson was born to John B. and Maude (Hood) Gassere in Blue River, Wis. on July 22, 1918.

She married Gordon Kelley and then later Don Ferson.

Ferson graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. with a degree in art education.

As Mrs. Gordon Kelley, she raised five children at Fletcher Bay. With her second husband, Don Ferson, she was manager and co-owner of The Inquisitor’s Club, (later called Share the Ride Club) a travel service for seniors in the Seattle area.

She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed English literature. She made two trips to England over the years. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Ferson is survived by her sons Kirk Wollin of Indianola, Paul Kelley of Kent and Michael Kelley of Renton; daughters Marsha Pellegrini of Bremerton and Sally Duckworth of Poulsbo; sister Fay LaFayette of Minneapolis, Minn.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don Ferson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at First Baptist Church on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.
