Eileen M. Wonders, 83

Poulsbo resident Eileen Mildred Wonders died Dec. 13, 2005 in Seattle. She was 83.

She was born on July 30, 1922 to John Olander and Irene Wallace.

Wonders was a native of Longmont, Colo. and a resident of Poulsbo for 22 years.

She was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. She was Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star from 1982-1983 and also served as a Gray Lady for the Red Cross in Europe. She was an avid quilter and knitter. She also enjoyed being with her family, playing the piano and playing golf.

Wonders is survived by her husband Glenn Wonders of Poulsbo; daughter Glenda (Tom) Specht of Puyallup; brother John Olander of Columbus, Neb.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Dec. 22 at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Heifer International at www.heifer.org. Arrangements were entrusted to Kass & Cook Family Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
