Edward G. Weed, 89

Poulsbo resident Edward George Weed died Nov. 10, 2005 in Poulsbo. He was 89.

Weed was born in Wisconsin on April 12, 1916 and lived in Missouri and California before moving to Washington in 1939.

He was a World War II veteran and he worked at the Keyport facility until his retirement in 1970. Weed was an active member of the Kitsap Mycological Society, Audubon Society, Gem and Mineral Society and The Good Sam Club. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and the company of his many friends.

He is survived by his wife Fay; daughter Lenore Barnes and grandson Monti, both of San Diego; sisters Pearl Kissinger and Alberta Starrett; and brother Clarence.

A memorial service was held on Jan. 14 at the Tahoma National Cemetery.
