E. Ruth Jacobson, 92

E. Ruth Jacobson of Poulsbo died Nov. 7, 2004 in Bremerton. She was 92.

Jacobson was born to Joseph W. and Jennie-Kaziah (Goheen) Higby in Lewiston, Idaho on Aug. 15, 1912.

She married Arnold B. Jacobson on May 10, 1969 in Poulsbo.

Jacobson graduated from Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Idaho in 1930 then from Clarkston Secretarial College in Clarkston in 1932.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and entertaining. She traveled extensively to Europe and Africa. She was a Methodist.

Jacobson is survived by her husband Arnold B. Jacobson of Poulsbo; son Michael Carl (Milagros) Anderson of Costa Rica; daughters Karen Gale (Michael) Dees Anderson Wolf of Kennewick, Roseanne Jacobson (Steve) McCullough of Wagner, Okla. and Arnetta Marie Jacobson Cheatham of Poulsbo; brother Donald Higby of Boring, Ore.; sister Arleta Van Guilder of Hansville; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Dees Anderson; parents Joseph W. and Jennie-Kaziah (Goheen) Higby; sisters Peg Higby Brown, Mable Eunice Harris and Dorothy Higby Williams; and brothers Samuel Higby and Carl “Bill” Higby.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo. Inurnment will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
