Doyle Louden, 87

Doyle Paul Louden of Poulsbo died Oct. 22, 2006 in Poulsbo. He was 87.

Louden was born to Flay Louden and Elizabeth Tabor in Jackson County, Ind. on Sept. 11, 1919.

Louden married Betty Lowery and they enjoyed almost 46 years together.

Louden graduated from Bedford High School in 1937.

Louden built a chain of Louden supermarkets in southern Indiana and founded Louden Construction in Florida.

He served as a marine in the 2nd Division in the Pacific theater, helping to take Tarawa Island in the Gilberts.

Louden also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family.

Louden is survived by daughters Beth Cappelen, Jennifer Louden and Michele Samuelson; son-in-law Christopher Mosio; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
