Douglas Russell Johnson Sr., 60

Douglas Russell Johnson Sr. died on May 24 in Quilcene. He was born in Whitefish, Mont., on August 23, 1947, to Dorothy and Sig Johnson.

He was raised in Poulsbo where he worked at Keyport as a welder and torpedo fueler until 1988.

He enjoyed hunting, wood carving, his dog Nanuk and time spent with his extended family and grandchildren who called him “Grumpa Doug.”

Johnson is survived by Margaret, his wife of 31 years; sons Lennie Barnes of Suquamish, Rich (Cindy) Nichols of Poulsbo and Doug (Lisa) Johnson Jr. of Suquamish; daughters Lynnette (Phil) Post of Coulee City, Trinity (Ron) Walker of Poulsbo and Sonja (Glenn) Goodrich of Bainbridge Island; and 14 grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

A celebration of his life is scheduled at The Property in Quilcene at 2 p.m. on May 31.
