Dorthea Furgeson, 84

Dorthea Furgeson of Poulsbo died Nov. 15, 2003. She was 84.

Furgeson was born to Emil E. and Karen A. (Stevens) Hanson in Fergus Falls, Minn. on Feb. 11, 1919.

Furgeson married Gisle Furgeson on Oct. 12, 1939 in Minnesota.

She attended Fergus Falls High School in Fergus Falls, Minn.

Furgeson was a homemaker and worked as a personal cook to Mrs. Agnes Brennen of Poulsbo.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping, her family and enjoyed watching TV sermons. She was Presbyterian.

Furgeson is survived by daughters Susan R. (Chuck) Barlow and Gale I. Tracy of Poulsbo; sister Olive Swenson of Fergus Falls, Minn.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gisle Furgeson; parents Emil E. and Karen A. (Stevens) Hanson; brothers Carroll Hanson and Aldor Hanson; and sisters Ethel Loomer and Audrey Johnson.

A visitation will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 21 at the Stone Chapel. The funeral will take place at 1 p.m. Nov. 21 at Stone Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
