Donna “Jean” Nausid died Aug. 1 at her home from cancer. She was 75.
She was born March 15, 1934 in Bremerton to Arden and Edna (Jensen) Smith. She graduated in 1952 from North Kitsap High School. She married Frank Nausid on Aug. 21, 1954, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Nausid loved to garden and worked with her cousin Sally Simms as a gardener at Kiana Lodge and Lemolo Greenhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dewey Smith, and granddaughter Kelly Nausid. Surviving are her husband: Frank; children, Doug Nausid (Tris) of Alaska; Randy Nausid of Seattle; Cindy Nausid (Richard Nichols)of Poulsbo; and Susan Nausid of Poulsbo; sisters: Diane Taylor (Mike) of Bremerton; and Lynn Matthews (Dave) of Okla.; brother: Larry Smith of Poulsbo; grandchildren: Amber, Tasha, Tara, Isabella, Ty, Ali, and Grant; and great-grandchild: Ari.
