Donald Fassett

Donald Fassett, 93

Former North Kitsap resident Donald G. Fassett of Olympia died Jan. 7, 2004 in Olympia. He was 93.

Fassett was born to Francis and Anne Fassett in Seattle on Oct. 11, 1910.

He married Willa Mylroie on Dec. 26, 1966 in Olympia.

Fassett graduated from Selah High School in 1928 and then from the University of Washington in 1932.

He worked at PSNS during World War II, then for Fassett Engineering works in 1946, which later became Fassett & McKenney. He also worked for Boeing and The Evergreen State College.

Fassett was a charter member of the Bainbridge Rotary and Agate Pass Squadron. He loved building things and salt water, including sailboats and sailing.

Fassett is survived by his wife Willa (Mylroie) Fassett; daughters Anne (Gene) Cook of Poulsbo, Alice (Wayne) Fisher of Onalaska and Dana Fassett of Olympia; sister Barbara Fassett of Port Orchard; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

A memorial cruise to Blake Island is planned at a later date.
