Dennis Shen-On Chu died Aug. 2, 2009 with his loving family by his side after a long battle with cancer. The Silverdale resident was 71.

Dennis was born on May 31, 1938 to Harry and Mabel (Aea) Chu and raised in Honolulu.

Dennis was a longtime electrician with Johnson Controls and EJB at Bangor and Keyport military bases. His hobbies consisted of slot car, go-cart, drag car and motorcycle racing. His loves were to rebuild cars, fishing, crabbing, camping and his other love of playing the slot machines at the casino.

Dennis is survived by his wife Valerie; sons, Darren (Nancy) and Dwayne (Lisa); daughters, Denise (Darrick), Denette (Tim), Desiree (Esmeraldo); and Hanai (raised) children, Ryan (Patty), Gary (Shannon) and Deidra (Josh). He was a wonderful and loving grandfather to 17 grandchildren and blessed to be a great-grandfather to one great-grandchild.

Dennis’ heart was truly devoted to caring, helping and loving all of his family and friends.

A funeral mass for Dennis was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4215 Pine Road NE in Bremerton. Please sign the online guest book at www.tuellmckeebremerton.com.
