Della L. Hatcher, 89

Della Louise Hatcher of Poulsbo died Sept. 16, 2004 in Seattle. She was 89.

Hatcher was born to Frank “Frenchie” and Katherine (Redfield) Morse in Manhattan, Mont. on May 7, 1915.

She married Ray Ralph Hatcher on June 17, 1934.

Hatcher was a homemaker. She enjoyed working as a Sunday school teacher and doing other tasks for the churches her family attended. She was also a caretaker, caring for her family from age 12 when we mother went into a tuberculosis facility. She later cared for her husband, who lived with Alzheimer’s for 20 years.

She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, cooking, loving her grandchildren and caring for anyone in need.

Hatcher is survived by her son Ray Hatcher Jr. of Poulsbo; daughters Bernice “Bunny” Lee of Poulsbo, Mary Lu (Ken) Holloway of Poulsbo and Patricia (Dan) Rubens of Lincoln; sister Lois Freeman of Seattle; 20 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank “Frenchie” and Katherine (Redfield) Morse; husband Ray Ralph Hatcher; son Edgar; and grandson Thomas Ray Scouller.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Christ Memorial Church in the Munger Chapel. A private burial will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery.
