David G. Hackett

David G. Hackett of Poulsbo died Nov. 1, 2007. He was 70.

Hackett was born to Nathaniel and Thelma Hackett in Chicago, Ill. on April 19, 1937.

He married Linda Hackett 39 years ago.

Hackett served in the U.S. Navy for 32 years, working on 11 submarines and as a cob on the Jacksonville. He retired as a master chief in 1989 and moved to Washington. He earned numerous medals including a bronze star and Purple Heart.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and building things.

Hackett is survived by his wife Linda Hackett; son David; daughters Theresa, Janice, Elizabeth, Catherine and Patricia; brothers Donald Hackett and Douglas Hackett; sisters Florence Clifton and Nancy Booty; and 13 grandchildren.

Hackett was preceded in death by his brothers Scott Hackett and Anthony Hackett and his sister Suzanne Guerin.

At his request, he will be buried at sea. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
