David Boehme, 83
David Boehme, 83, of Poulsbo died Oct. 20, at Hospice Care Center in Bremerton. Boehme was born July 5, 1925, in Akron, Ohio, to Lucille and Herman Boehme.
On June 18, 1966 he married Shirley D. Frykholm in Port Orchard. Boehme served in the US Army. He was a POW during World War II. He received a European Theater Ribbon, three Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and WWII Victory Medal. Boehme worked for Puget Power for more than 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, a senior member of the Elks and former member of Sons of Norway.
Boehme enjoyed flying. He received his pilot’s license and in partnership with his brother owned a plane. He was preceded in death by his sister Marjerie and brother Richard — a WWII pilot.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Shirley; daughter Sue (Ed) Giaimo of Bellevue; brothers Robert E. (Mary) of Pt. Orchard, Jack (Verla) of Denton, Texas, Don (Joan) of Pt. Orchard and granddaughter Whitney Giaimo.
