Cliff Burner

Cliff Burner, 95

Poulsbo resident Cliff Burner died Sept. 9, 2006 in Silverdale. He was 95.

Burner was born to James Burner and Minerva (Sinclair) Burner in Snohomish on Jan. 15, 1911.

He married Betty (Clemans) Burner on May 5, 1934 in Bellingham.

Burner graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1928. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and graduate degrees from Columbia.

He worked for the United States Department of Fish and Wildlife for 34 years.

Burner served during World War II as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy.

He was an active member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America and the Olympic Vintage Car Club.

Burner is survived by his son Jay Burner of West Virginia and his daughter Sue (Greg) Klum of Hawaii.

Burner was preceded in death by his wife Betty Burner, his brother James Burner and his sister June Estill.

Private services will be at the GAR Cemetery in Snohomish.
