Christine Griffin Smith

April 24, 1942 - September 19, 2020

Christine Griffin Smith was born in Waycross, Georgia and became an angel on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at her home in Port Orchard, joining her husband in heaven, Lou, who passed in 1991. She is survived by her three children Renae Morin of Bremerton, Randy and Robby Smith both of Port Orchard; siblings Gerald Griffin of Tampa, Florida, Erma Jean Branch of Darien, Georgia, Thomas Walker of Brunswick, Georgia, along with six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends.

A Navy wife for twenty plus years, she served as an Ombudsman for numerous tours and was the president of the Navy Wives Club. Additionally, she was a small business owner for fifteen years and a caretaker for two years. The last seven years she cared for two of her great grandchildren which brought her so much joy.

A devout Christian, Christine was an active member of the Highway Assembly of God Church in Silverdale for thirty four years. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat, playing games on her tablet as well as playing Scrabble. To Christine nobody was a stranger, she consistently would strike up a conversation with anyone when she was out and about, in hopes of brightening their day. She had a big heart and would often house family or friends who were down on their luck. Her favorite phrase was, “Let go and let God.”, which is what she lived by!

A private memorial will be held with family.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Highway Church in Silverdale at a later date for everyone.
