Cecil Rigg Branstetter of Indianola died May 24. He was 89.
Branstetter was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Seattle. He was a 1938 graduate of Bellingham High School, where his family owned a sporting goods store. After serving in the military, he married and worked as a sporting goods representative. He retired in Indianola.
As an active member of Trout Unlimited, his love of nature was revealed in his wood carving.
He is survived by his wife Glea, daughters Jan (John) Lamont of Sammamish and Susan (Steve) Swank of Bellingham; son Bill Branstetter of Bremerton; sister Dodie Byrs of Camano Island; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 27 at the Indianola Clubhouse.
