Cecil C. VanKeuren, 96

Cecil C. VanKeuren of Kingston died Jan. 27, 2007 at his home. He was 96.

VanKeuren was born to Charles F. and Mabel O. (Garl) VanKeuren in Kingston on July 3, 1910.

He married Betty Jo Homer on March 30, 1946.

He worked in production dispatch at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1970. He also worked at the VanKeuren Dairy farm and at Bob Laris Automotive as a mechanic in 1926.

He enjoyed bowling, baseball, photography, guns and loved to play the banjo. He was a Scoutmaster in the 1950s, a Kiwanis Club member and a member of the John Birch Society.

VanKeuren is survived by his son Charles (Linda) VanKeuren of Moses Lake; daughters Nancy (Jimmy) Crabbe of Lynnwood and Crystal (VanKeuren) Bell of Kingston; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

VanKeuren was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo VanKeuren; brothers Donald, Harold, Wayne, Rolland, Lyle, Lynn and Stan; and sisters Vivian, Clare, Marie and Bonita.

A memorial service was held at Kingston Christian Church on Feb. 6.
