Carol Jane Gillette died Oct. 5, 2007, in Montana. The former Silverdale resident was 85.

Mrs. Gillette was born to William and Stella Hogan. She grew up in Silverdale and attended the Clear Creek School and had many fond memories of that place and time.

She married the love of her youth, Douglas H. Gillette, and they moved to the Burien area in 1947 where they raised their three children. She was a longtime resident of the same house until 2004.

Her last years were spent with her daughter Alison Rose in Dixon, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas in 1968 and a son Jon in 2004.

She is survived by her daughter Alison; son Bill; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and services will be this spring in Washington.
