Barbara E. Edwards, 84

Hansville resident Barbara E. Edwards died in Hansville on Feb. 19, 2006. She was 84.

She was born to William J. Salisbury and Della Miller in Maxwell, Calif. on Jan. 9, 1922.

Edwards married John H. Edwards on April 6, 1963 in Elko, Nev.

She graduated from Ukiah Union High School in Ukiah, Calif. in 1941.

Edwards served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945, serving during World War II and achieving rank of HA1.

She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and camping with her husband in their motor home. She was a member of the Hansville Community Church.

Edwards is survived by her husband John H. Edwards of Hansville; son Frank “Butch” (Lisa) Mayhew of Long Beach, Calif.; daughter Teresa (Jim) Budd of Plymouth, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings and her daughter Carol Edwards.

A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at The Stone Chapel.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Hansville Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at noon at the Hansville Community Center.

Memorial donations can be sent to Hospice of Kitsap County or Hansville Community Church.
