Arlone E. Turner, 69

Suquamish resident Arlone Elaine (Johnson) Turner died Dec. 14, 2004 in Poulsbo. She was 69.

Turner was born to Willard and Bertha (Schmidt) Johnson in Bently, N.D. on Feb. 11, 1935.

She married James T. Turner on April 12, 1972 in Virginia City, Nev.

Turner graduated from Ballard High School in 1953.

She worked as a secretary for Shell Oil; was an office clerk for Dave Beck of the Teamsters Union; was a staff assistant for State Senator Dennis Carpenter in Orange County, Calif.; and was a legal secretary for Ryan, Carlson, Bush Swanson and Henden Law Firm in Seattle.

Turner enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband and photography.

She is survived by her husband James T. Turner of Suquamish; sons Jim Turner of Ferndale, Paul Turner of Brea, Calif. and Tom Turner of Silverdale; daughters Kris Karlberg of Fontana, Calif., Kim Miklancic of Sacramento, Calif. and Karyn Roznos of Irvine, Calif.; brother Monte Moreland of Seattle; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Bertha (Schmidt) Johnson and brother Donnie Johnson.

A memorial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Gold Mountain Golf Course Banquet Hall in Bremerton. She will be cremated at the Cherry Grove Crematory.

The family is currently establishing a fund to assist in placing a traffic signal at the intersection of Bond Road and Gunderson Road in Poulsbo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove, 22272 Foss Road NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370.
